On October 18, the BRICS Planet team participated in organizing the BRICS New Economy Legal Forum.
The BRICS New Economy Legal Forum is part of the New Economy Legal Series aimed at addressing current legal and economic challenges while simultaneously developing the legal infrastructure necessary for international trade and investments in an evolving macroeconomic landscape. This year, Russia holds the BRICS presidency, positioning the country as a platform to promote joint initiatives within the group. Ahead of the upcoming summit in Kazan, the BRICS New Economy Legal Forum took place on October 18 in Moscow, bringing together participants from over twelve countries to discuss key issues of international trade, investments, and expanding economic ties between countries of the Global South and East.
The event began with a business breakfast titled “Developing the Legal Infrastructure of the BRICS Zone,” where participants from Brazil, India, Russia, the UAE, and Turkey discussed pressing issues necessary to ensure the continued success of the union. Abdullah Baker, Director of the Dubai Chamber (UAE) for the Middle East and Eurasia, delivered the opening remarks to the participants.
